Galley and Topanga Join Forces to Turn Line-Level Data into Profits

Rising food costs and a tight labor market continue to squeeze foodservice teams. Galley Solutions and Topanga believe the answer can be found in the kitchen’s own data. To explore that more, they have announced a partnership that connects Galley’s Culinary Resource Planning (CRP) technology with Topanga’s StreamLine prep-to-post-service data capture system. The goal is simple: help chefs turn real-time production numbers into faster plans, less waste, and stronger margins.

A Shared Vision for Practical AI

Both companies build tools that are a natural fit on the line. Galley Assist converts photos, PDFs, and spreadsheets into fully costed, allergen-tagged recipes in minutes. The StreamLine countertop smart scale lets operators record prepared, carryover, or wasted food in just one tap, and AI intervenes to determine the menu item in question and contextualize the data. Together, the systems remove manual tracking and late-night spreadsheet edits, providing teams with a clear picture of what was made, what’s left, and what should change next service.

“Getting high-quality data out of kitchens and into well-developed systems of record is the unlock for operational achievement for culinary teams. StreamLine solves the former, and Galley is a great example of the latter. Together, these tools create a foundation for everything from answering simple questions to using the latest AI for automation and intelligence,” said Adam Bailey, CTO & Co-Founder at Topanga.

How the Integration Works

  1. Capture – A team member places a tray of food—prepared, carryover, or waste—on the StreamLine countertop smart scale and with one tap, the system records weight and a timestamped visual.

  2. Match – StreamLine’s AI tags the entry with the correct Galley menu item (and identifies the pan used), pulling in cost information from Galley to show the financial impact of waste.

  3. Act – Chefs receive clear guidance and reporting from StreamLine about overproduction problem areas, driving quick updates to menu plans back in Galley.

It's a system built for busy shifts and high-stress days. Each entry only requires a few seconds of team member time, so there's no learning curve or battles over adoption.

Immediate Benefits

  • Less waste – Real production history replaces guesswork, so production plans match demand.

  • Clear costs – Ingredient spend ties back to live menu data, keeping leaders on budget.

  • Happier crews – Fewer clipboards and smoother hand-offs lower stress in a high-turnover job.

Voices from the Builders

“Chefs want tools that fit the flow of service,” noted Bridget Quinlan, CRO at Galley. “StreamLine slides right into that flow, while our CRP turns the data into next week’s action.”

Page Schult, CEO at Topanga, underscored the technical fit: “Together, we’re giving foodservice teams smarter, integrated tools that reduce waste, reclaim time, and make each shift more efficient and impactful. It’s a win for sustainability—and for the bottom line.”

What’s Next

To begin, StreamLine will leverage Galley's data to display production results in the context of your current menu.

Soon, that production data from StreamLine will automatically flow back to the Galley CRP and fluidly adjust future plans—eliminating the need for time-consuming, manual data entry.

Early adopters will play a key role in helping to shape additions throughout the year.

Why It Matters Now

Food costs rose more than eight percent last year, and every lost pound hurts. Kitchens that understand true output can cut over-production by double digits and redirect savings toward staff, quality, or growth. This partnership gives operators that insight without adding headcount or complexity.
